Today is one of those days where being in my studio is like finding out who i am again; cleansing of my soul; acknowledgment of one of the things that brings me peace.

"The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting." ~Vincent Van Gogh

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."
~ Henry Ward Beecher

"A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art."
~ Paul Cézanne

"If you hear a voice within you saying, 'You are not a painter,' then by all means paint... and that voice will be silenced."
~Vincent Van Gogh

Here's a multi-person portrait of some lovely young ladies from Cleveland, Ohio... I love this family so much.  Its funny how you can go from not knowing someone to being deep friends in the matter of days. That's how i feel about "The McCartney Girls"s mother...
Here's another image of my art studio.   The monochromatic painting in the frame of the boy in a choir robe, i just finished and sent to the Client in Alaska.   She said, "The Portrait is beautiful. The frame is perfect. ...I did absolutely the right thing when i got together with you to do Eric's portrait.... Thanks Molly  - Barbara."

Palettes

Out with the old; In with the new.
Here's a cute image of an informal photo shoot that i did of a friend, Cloe. I will draw this when i get some spare time.  It's just so darling.
Here's a better image of the painting of Alexandria... Even still i am always so disappointed at how different paintings look on the web compared to in person.  ... Oh well, I am very excited about it. I love it.  It shines.  I can't wait to finish it and  send it to the clients.
After some more painting sessions, here is another update on the portrait of Sheila and Alexandria.

I finally achieved a level of glow and aliveness that i wanted in Alexandria's face.  I feel very satisfied with her portrait.

This week I will finish Sheila's face... along with the other portraits i've been working on.  :)

So, i decided that this blog isn't going to be all about art and painting.  It may be about ridiculous thoughts i have or more pictures of my dog, or just blabber because i'm bored.  I hope nobodies offended by my declaration that "Art, Art, and more Art" may not actually be an accurate title for my blog.  "Art, Art, Molly's Dog, a Bunch of Nonsense, Stupid Quotes, and more Art" may be a clearer reflection of what i will add to this blog. ... And even though i graduated third in my class in high school, got a perfect score on my AP Calculas test, and am a college graduate, i refuse to be confined by the pressure of being grammatically correct on my blog.  I'm pulling the dumb artist card, and giving myself the freedom to use phrases like 'more happy,' or not correctly use 'its' verses 'it's,'  or on the flip side use really big words like subterfuge and quixotic even if i'm not quite sure that I am using them in the correct context.
